November is CraftMONTH
CraftNOW activates the city the days and weeks surrounding the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show with the City of Philadelphia’s Art in City Hall and Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy having issued a proclamation naming November CraftMONTH.

First Fridays
Friday, November 3
From Old City to Fishtown to Fairmount, First Friday events in Philly’s different arts corridors draw curious crowds eager to explore participating galleries, studios, shops, bars and restaurants.


CraftNOW Create
Saturday, November 11th
Craft steps out of the studio and into the heart of Philadelphia with demonstrations and hands-on exploration. Join us Saturday, November 11th when we take over Smith Memorial Playground with free activities.

Craft Works Symposium

In 2023, CraftNOW presents Craft Works which explores the work of making things, craft practice as labor, craft’s relationship to the needs of working people, and the power of craft to enact transformative work through communities. The theme pays tribute to the important contributions of gallerists Ruth and Rick Snyderman to Philadelphia’s craft community through their gallery, Snyderman Works.
