November is CraftMONTH

CraftNOW activates the city the days and weeks surrounding the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show with the City of Philadelphia’s Art in City Hall and Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy having issued a proclamation naming November CraftMONTH.

First Fridays

From Old City to Fishtown to Fairmount, First Friday events in Philly’s different arts corridors draw curious crowds eager to explore participating galleries, studios, shops, bars and restaurants.

CraftNOW Create

Saturday, November 2nd

Craft steps out of the studio and into the heart of Philadelphia with demonstrations and hands-on exploration. Join us Saturday, November 2nd when we take over Smith Memorial Playground with free activities.

Connectivity Symposium

In 2024, CraftNOW presents the theme Connectivity which explores family, community, and how craft connects us in an increasingly divided world. We will ask how individual makers, artists, and scholars first connected to craft and how it has shaped their lives.  We will also look into how the world of craft connects to other practices and communities: design, media, science, and public health. 

PMA Craft Show

Novermber 14-November 17, 2024

A show and sale of contemporary craft and design by 195 artists from across the United States plus 24 guest artists from Italy. The Show’s sole beneficiary is the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

CraftForms 2024, 29th International Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Craft will featuring nearly 100 contemporary works in ceramics, wood, fiber, metal, glass, basketry, paper wearable art, mixed media, CAD/CAM technologies and 3D printing tools from around the world.
