On the Agenda –
Pentimenti Gallery is hosting a two-person exhibition titled Breather, with sculptures by Austin Ballard and drawings by Erin Murray. Austin Ballard will be joining our program to describe his works in cane webbing and epoxy clay that form abstract sculptures that center movement and form. His multifaceted pieces weave through space and through themselves, both in concept and materiality. Using processes derived from textile pattern manipulation and ceramic slab building, Ballard synthesizes both traditional and innovative sculptural techniques to achieve dazzling effects.

Puzzle Jugs to Posset Pots! Obsolete Ceramic Forms at Winterthur Things change. People’s ideas of how to live, entertain, dine and drink evolve over time. Recipes come in and out of fashion as do the objects used to serve food and beverages. Join Senior Curator of Ceramics and Glass Leslie Grigsby for a behind-the-scenes look at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library’s ceramic vessels in now-outdated forms that were enjoyed during past centuries.
